La Salle agrees to multi-year contract with Giannini

John Giannini have agreed to a multi-year contract. Details of the agreement
were not released.
Giannini's Explorers teams have gone 83-97 in six seasons, including a 12-18
record this past season.
"We have a very talented group of young men in our program -- a strong
returning group and some very highly regarded newcomers," Giannini said. "Our
immediate goal is to be selected for a post-season tournament. Quite frankly,
I cannot wait for the new season to begin. We plan to make the La Salle family
proud."
La Salle has not made the NCAA Tournament since 1992.
Giannini became La Salle's head coach prior to the 2004-05 season after stints
at Rowan and Maine. He has a career record of 380-246.
