Italy's Pirlo hopes to be ready for final group game

Rome, Italy (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo is hoping to be
fit for his team's final group stage match against Slovakia on June 24.
The AC Milan veteran sustained a calf injury in Italy's recent 2-1 friendly
defeat against Mexico and it was originally feared that he would miss the
entire tournament.
However, he has made progress in his rehabilitation program and now hopes to
return for the final Group F fixture.
"Over the last few days I have been recovering and I feel less pain," Pirlo
told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"The situation is encouraging as the lesion has started to heal. I have faith,
even though the return will be defined step by step."
Pirlo made 43 appearances in all competitions for Milan this past season.
