Far Hills, NJ (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The 2012 Curtis Cup will take place at the
Nairn Golf Club. The announcement was made Friday by the United States
Golf Association and the Ladies Golf Union.
The Nairn has hosted many amateur and professional championships since its
formation in 1887. The Walker Cup was played there in 1999.
"The Ladies' Golf Union is delighted that the Nairn Golf Club has agreed to
host the Curtis Cup in 2012," said Susan Simpson, director of championships
for the LGU. "We could not have chosen a more welcoming club or a more testing
venue for the match. It was a very difficult decision, but I have no doubt
that we have made a wise choice in Nairn."
The Curtis Cup is a Ryder Cup style event with teams of females from the
United States and Great Britain & Ireland. The United States rolled to an 11
1/2 - 6 1/2 win over the GB&I team at the 2006 Curtis Cup. With that victory,
the U.S. extended its lead in the series to 25-6-3.

Everyone was shocked when Al Davis took Heyward-Bey with the eighth overall pick in April's draft, but the kid has a tremendous amount of talent and if quarterback JaMarcus Russell takes the next step this year, the former Maryland product could blossom. Plus, Heyward-Bey will be looking to prove the people wrong who said Oakland should have taken Michael Crabtree with the No. 8 pick.
