L.A. has dominated the series between the clubs, going undefeated in the last
eight and winning 12 of 20 overall with just three losses in those games. But
Chivas defeated the Red Bulls, 3-2, and could make a big statement with a win
against the Galaxy (5-2-5).
Chivas (3-3-3) finished at the bottom of the Western Conference last year, but
since opening the year with two straight losses, it has won three of its last
four and has just one loss in its last seven, 1-0 to Real Salt Lake.
Fraser's group posted their biggest win to date last Sunday, when Justin Braun
scored his first hat trick in a 3-2 win at Red Bull Arena against New York and
its star-studded roster.
"This group is unbelievably motivated. They have tremendous character. If you
look at this season so far, some of the results we've had, the effort with
which we've played, they're extremely motivated, and a focused group," Fraser
said.
"They're very much concentrating on getting better and better every week, and
finding a way to get results."
Chivas scored just three goals in its first five matches, but has since scored
eight goals over the last three weeks, a span including a 1-0 loss to RSL when
the California club finished with just nine men.
Fraser even thought "we didn't play great" against the Red Bulls but "we found
ways to get the ball into the net" and "we found ways to defend that lead."
Braun felt the win over New York would bring some more attention to the other
club that plays at The Home Depot Center - L.A. and Chivas share the stadium.
"A lot of people haven't been talking about (Chivas USA), which we don't mind
at all," Braun said. "But to come in and beat one of the so-called best teams
in the league at their place is big."
Although Saturday's game is technically a home game for Chivas, a victory over
L.A. - something the Goats haven't accomplished since the 2007 season - would
definitely get people talking about the club.
L.A. defeated Sporting Kansas City, 4-1, last weekend. Landon Donovan scored a
pair of goals to take over the scoring lead in MLS and move into fourth place
all-time with 110 regular-season goals.
The Galaxy remained atop the Western Conference, and have three victories and
two draws in its home matches, and will be tough after what L.A. defender Todd
Dunivant called "a complete performance."

So in lieu of a odds figure in which to bet the team to win outright, the Bears might be a three-point favorite over the New York Giants, and a 17-point favorite over the also-ran. Now that the team that is the underdog can "get" points, there can be equal action on both sides.
In sportsbooks, this is usually done with efficiency by charging the losing bettors 10% extra - in effect, bettors are laying 11/10 on those games. So they are actually betting $110 to win $100. If they lose, they pay the "vig." If they win, they simply collect.

Two seasons removed from that Super Bowl title, the New York Giants see themselves listed as the odds-on favorite in NFC East championship futures at +162.

In the Giants' last 20 games against fellow teams from the NFC East; they are 13-7 ATS.

Dallas went 9-7 SU and 7-9 ATS last season and with the amount of talent the Cowboys have, a similar performance won't do.
The Cowboys have been atrocious against divisional rivals, going 6-14 ATS in their last 20.
The Washington Redskins are longshots to win the division at +550.
