Bears release RB Jones

Kevin Jones on Tuesday.
Jones, who missed all of 2009 with a serious ankle injury, signed with the
bears in 2008 and rushed for 109 yards on 34 carries in 11 contests that

times for 3,176 yards with 24 touchdowns over five NFL seasons. He also has

Hernandez received a cortisone shot Thursday after leaving camp and returning to New York to have his neck examined. The 41-year-old right-hander is penciled in as the team's No. 2 starter behind Tom Glavine.
